  • Last night , Maria brought her son Jesus by to show us what he has learned to do. Jesus, who has many problems, just turned 12 on March 10th and is the size of a 6 or 7 year old. He has always been in a wheel chair. For the past year to 18 months O.S.M. has been purchasing his meds each month (almost $100/month). Without them he has seizures and lots of other problems. Last night Maria showed us that Jesus has learned to stand. He was leaning against the wall and she was right beside him, but it was a MAJOR accomplishment!! Also, we had never seen him smile and look so happy. Maria is a very hard working Mom, and God is amazing! When we first met their family, she did all her cooking on a fire outside, her dishes and laundry under a small spigot outside, and they lived in a 1 room house. With the Lord’s help O.S.M. helped by adding another small room up front, and a small kitchen and bathroom in the back. Ken added a nice little back porch and hooked up a chucka-chucka (washing machine) for her. It all turned out really cute. Recently, Ramiro accepted Christ as his Savior, and they are going to church now, praise the Lord!! This family remains a blessing and an encouragement to us.

  • Lauret

Dr. Gerges is checking Laurette in May, 2009 when we met her.

  • We met Laurette this past May while working in the mountains of Haiti, near Joli-Guilbert. Laurette had a very large tumor growing from her jaw area, which would soon block her eating, drinking and possibly her breathing if nothing was done for her. There was no medical help for her in Haiti, so we asked many of you to pray that the Lord would make a way for her to be brought to the U.S. Praise the Lord, after the earthquake, with lots of work by John Leininger and other doctors, Laurette was brought to Miami and she had a surgery yesterday. She is recovering now, please keep her in your prayers

  •  Going to see the school children was a highlight and a blessing for Micah and our family. We have been very concerned about the children, pastors and teachers there. Most have suffered great loss, either of family or their homes, some both. Yet, just receiving a small piece of candy from Micah yielded a big smile from the children, they are truly precious!!
