  • Lauret

Dr. Gerges is checking Laurette in May, 2009 when we met her.

  • We met Laurette this past May while working in the mountains of Haiti, near Joli-Guilbert. Laurette had a very large tumor growing from her jaw area, which would soon block her eating, drinking and possibly her breathing if nothing was done for her. There was no medical help for her in Haiti, so we asked many of you to pray that the Lord would make a way for her to be brought to the U.S. Praise the Lord, after the earthquake, with lots of work by John Leininger and other doctors, Laurette was brought to Miami and she had a surgery yesterday. She is recovering now, please keep her in your prayers

  •  Going to see the school children was a highlight and a blessing for Micah and our family. We have been very concerned about the children, pastors and teachers there. Most have suffered great loss, either of family or their homes, some both. Yet, just receiving a small piece of candy from Micah yielded a big smile from the children, they are truly precious!!

  • Memorial service

Pastor Etean interpreted for Doug and Beall Phillips as they held a lovely memorial service for the children of the orphanage. These 2 little boys were sharing about their loss from the earthquake.

  •   Micah enjoyed his trip to Haiti very much. He went to help our pastor, Doug Phillips. Doug had a beautiful memorial service for the children from the orphanage. They rented tap-taps and took the children up the mountain and held a service for them at the top of the mountain. Each of the children were allowed to speak about their loved one(s) who had died in the earthquake. Afterwards, they had cake and played for a while before they went back to the orphanage. Later, they had pizza, which helped the day end on a positive note.

  •   The children playing

All these children live at the orphanage and they don’t get to go out and just run off energy because there really is no yard area. They enjoyed being able to play and run outside in the country for the afternoon.
